Apple AC Wall Plug Adaptor

Apple has determined that in rare cases, the two prong Apple wall adaptor may break, with risk of electric shock, if touched. These were sold from 2003 – 2015 with Mac and IOS devices, and were included in the Apple World Travel Adapter kits.

Apple has provided the below image to help you determine if a plug has been affected.

Acer Computer Linetek LS-15 power cord

Acer has recalled their Linetek LS-15 power cords due to risk of a fire and burn hazard, as the cords may over heat during use. Power cords were supplied with Acer, Gateway and eMachines branded notebook computers. These were for sale between September 2010 and March 2015. If you suspect you have one of these cords, please visit the website below to request a free replacement.

BSH Home Appliances – Neff branded Dishwasher

Specific models of Neff branded dishwashers have been recalled. They were manufactured in Germany between February 2004 and June 2005. It is believed that the affected models may develop cracks in the electrical circuit board within the control module. This poses a potential fire risk. The affected models include:

·         S44M55N0EU/35

·         S44M55N0EU/56

·         S44E33N1EU/35

·         S44E33N1EU/49

J R Classic trends – Dualit 1.5L Jug Kettle with Black Trim

This kettle has been recalled, as the plastic viewing window may shatter.  There is then a risk of the shattered pieces passing the filter and being poured into food or beverages, and if digested causing injury. If you have this kettle you should stop using it immediately  and return it to the retailer where you purchased it, to receive a full refund.

Musicway – Connexia Branded 8 & 4 Socket surge protected power boards.

Connexia Branded eight and four socket surge protected power boards with USB ports have been recalled. During use there is a risk of the board overheating, causing the outer casing to melt, posing both a fire and electric shock risk. These power-boards were sold on catch of the day. Affected models include:

·         CONNEXIA55021 (white) marked with date stamp 04/15

·         CONNEXIA55023 (black) marked with date stamp 04/15

·         CONNEXIA55017 (white) marked with date stamp 0815

If you purchased one of these boards stop use immediately, you should be contacted directly by the retailer to arrange a refund.

ALDI – Lumina Electric Blanket (Re-announced)

Lumina Electrical Blankets sold by ALDI have been recalled for single, queen and king sizes from 2010, 2012 and 2013. The cord between the controller and the blanket may become fatigued, causing a potential risk of both fire and electric shock. Affected models include:

·         Single: Product Number: 8311 | Model Number: EB91SB

·         Queen: Product Number: 7177 | Model Number: EB193QB

·         King: Product Number: 7259 | Model Number: EB203KB

If you have one of these blankets, stop using it immediately and return to your nearest ALDI store for a full refund.

Remember to always keep an eye out for faulty appliances and stop using any appliances that doesn’t seem quite right.
